FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- December 4, 2007 -- Prosperity Resources Intl. Inc. at 464 Coit Street Irvington, N.J. 07111 is recalling "Golden Flower Brand Dried Lily Bulb" because it may contain undeclared sulfites. People who have severe sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product.
The recalled "Golden Flower Brand Dried Lily Bulb", a product of China, is packaged in uncoded 12 oz plastic bags. There were sold nationwide.
The recall was initiated after routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors and Subsequent analysis of the product by Food Laboratory personnel revealed the presence of sulfites in packages of "Golden Flower Brand Dried Lily Bulb" which did not declare sulfites on the label. The consumption of 10 milligrams of sulfites per serving has been reported to elicit severe reactions in some asthmatics. Anaphylactic shock could occur in certain sulfite sensitive individuals upon ingesting 10 milligrams or more of sulfites.
No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem. Consumers who have purchased "Golden Flower Brand Dried Lily Bulb" should return it to the place of purchase. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 973-371-9688.
