FDA Issue An Alerts To Pet Owners Regarding Potentially Toxic Levels of Vitamin D in Several Dry Pet Foods
Dry dog food in the recall were manufactured by a common contract manufacturer and marketed under several different brand names.The recall involves Kroger, Ahold Delhaize, ELM Pet Foods, Inc., Lidl (Orlando brand), ANF, Inc., Sunshine Mills, Inc., Natural Life Pet Products, and Nutrisca.Please check your dog food. Some of the companies like Kroger, Nutrisca did not provide photos of the packages and who ever provided the photo are listed below for reference.
Additional information from FDA;
- Pet owners should discontinue feeding these recalled products.
- The FDA is asking veterinarians who suspect vitamin D toxicity in their patients to report them through the Safety Reporting Portal or by calling their local FDA Consumer Complaint Coordinators. Pet owners can also report suspect cases to the FDA.
