E. coli spinach traced to Natural Selection Foods in San Juan Bautista, California.

The outbreak of E. coli involving packaged spinach has been traced to Natural Selection Foods, a company based in San Juan Bautista, California.

It also operates under the name Earthbound Farm and packages spinach for more than 30 other companies.

The company has voluntarily recalled all packages of its fresh spinach and any salad blend that contains spinach because they could possibly be contaminated with E. coli. The affected packages have “best if used by” dates of Aug. 17 through Oct. 1.
